To celebrate the opening of the new Art Centre, QUAD, in Derby, Smith of Derby created a motorised mechanism for the rotating screens and mirrors assisting Jane and Louises Spiteful of Dream exhibition during 26 September 2008 to 18 January 2009.
Based on the heart of the 19th Century Industrial Revolution background of Derby, the Wilson’s new work, "Spiteful of Dream" the inaugural exhibition for QUAD, incorporates references to the city both in its form and content.
Jane and Louise are renowned for their experimentation with film, video and photography. Throughout the late nineties, as digital technology advanced, the Wilson produced works that extended the use of the medium of video projection.
